July and August Adventures!

Adventure One
So i have been pretty busy this past month! It all started when i returned from my first trip yes i say my first as there is a second trip to report on from CALI! The week i got back was my b-day, well this year i decided i did not really want to celebrate my b-day because i was turning 27 and did not want to realize that i am kinda getting old...ha ha. I know I know 27 really is not that old but every year i get older i just wish i could stop! Anyhow the week before my friend Nikki called me and wanted me to do her party as our b-days are next to each other, the day she wanted to do it I was not going to be there. So she moved it to a day i was going to be in town which was nice, so we through a party at her house with some close friends. It was alot of fun, the very next day my friend whitney came back in town and suprised me by taking me out to Harry Potter and then after to Sun Splash(I think that was the one) anyhow i had a blast that day running around the water park feeling like a kid it was great.

Monday was my b-day I did not do much as i had to work that day, but that night my friends all got together and took me out to dinner. Before dinner we went on this little adventure which i really cannot talk about but it was glorious! We ate at Oreganos for dinner which is my favorite place! Thanks to all my great friends yet again i had a fabulous b-day!

Adventure Two
The very next weekend whitney's ward was taking a trip up to fossil springs, i have wanted to go there for a very long time so i was excited when she invited me. We got up saturday morning at six and met at the church to drive up there. The drive is past payson so it take a couple hours to get there. Getting to the trail is the crazy part you drive on this dirt road that is insane you look over the edge and it is straight down, and it is only a one lane road so if someone is coming the other way you had to pull over. We almost ran into this car who was not paying attention it was pretty crazy. Once you got down there you hiked about a mile if that along the river bed to the awesome waterfall you see in the pictures. Whitney brought her brothers little dog so we dragged her along with us she was a good little sport.

The craziest part of the trip was whitney almost tumbling off the cliff of the waterfall. At the place there is a 20 foot cliff or where you jump from the top of the waterfall it is pretty fun to jump off of. Her and I had gone several times and this rock you climb over to get to where you jump is pretty slippery i remember being nervous each time. Well it must have gotten in her head because the one time I did not go with her she slips and starts sliding down the cliff luckily she grabbed onto the tree branch and caught herself in time or else it would have been bad news as there was no water where she was falling.

After that she was pretty bumped and bruised so we started heading back which i do not blame her at all. It was just in time tho as it started to down pour on us on the way back. Nothing like hiking in the rain!!! Overall great trip!

Adventure Three
The next trip i took was to good ol' Moapa to visit the Family. I had scheduled my flights back in June as my sister had called and told me she got permits to do the subway hike this weekend and i knew that i wanted to go so i booked my flights then and got them super cheap. I left the first saturday in august and my sister Michele came and picked me up even with her little guy who was sick. After we went out and met the family for a family party to celebrate all the birthday's. Ulma and Chad where the only ones not there as they were in el savador on vacation. I spent the rest the weekend hanging out in the Valley with my parents and sister. I definately realized i would never want to live there again, it is so wierd to even visit there. The only thing left i love there really is my family and the childhood memories.

Anyhow the very next week I drove to st george and spent the week there working. It was so refreshing to work in an office versus my home which i get tired of doing day in and day out. I am coming up on two years now with working from home. I miss waking up in the moring and getting ready. Most that week i just hung out with Chad and Ulma(big thanks to them for letting me stay with them!) and visiting my grandma which i just loved. She is in a nursing home now which is hard to see but she is doing good and I enjoyed visiting her. That friday Tosha and the kidos came in to town to stay the night and get ready for the big hike on saturday. It was funny we spent the night running around looking for dry bags(fyi ziplocks work!) anyhow we got what we needed and where PREPARED for our hiking of the subway!

The next morning we woke up bright and early and met Joe's two sisters and one of thier husbands and his friends and then two of Tosha's and Joe's friends at the begining of the hike where you leave the car. None of us had really done the hike well Tosha and I did when we where really young and you think we could remember NO! So the joke was not to get lost on the trail down there. We ended up doing great, everyone kept up and it was a great hiking group. I loved climbing down the rocks with the rope and dropping into the water even tho it was freezing cold. Luckily it was a pretty warm day so you dried pretty quick once you got walking again. The end of the hike was the hardest part as you are going straight up i just took a deep breath and decided i did not want to stop as much as possible. I was pretty proud at how well we all did. It was an awesome hike and i would do it again in a heartbeat!
