CALI-FOR-N-IA!!!

So this summer my vaca was a week long trip to huntington beach! My Friend Tatum is nannying down there for the summer these two little girls so I took the oppurtunity to go and stay with her. A group of us took off on thursday morning 4th of July weekend, it was Joe, Mike, Cory, Kylie and I. The car ride was long but entertaining with all of the boys. Once we got there the first thing we did was hit the beach! The water was freezing, but that did not stop the boys from getting in! Ya i know we were girls and just sat on the beach what can i say!


Friday morning was a great morning we woke up and drove into LA to go shopping at the district. Getting there was quite the adventure, we took some wrong turns but it did not keep us from finding it! I bought so much great stuff i had to tell myself to leave because of all the great deals there! YES almost better than my NY shopping expirence!
For the 4th we decided to beach it all day, it was so much fun. Although the water was so cold, i did go buggie boarding once and caught a couple waves. But i mostly caught the rays on the beach and played some sand volley ball. The highlight of the evening was the boys finding this resteraunt that we all went to that had some great mexican food it was so yummy. After getting full off of that we hit the beach for fireworks it was a great time. On Sunday morning the gang all took off and left Tatum and I heading to church alone well we met her family there as they were there for the weekend as well and her dad took us out to dinner and lunch that weekend her family is AWESOME. Anyhow after church i just loved it as we went and walked on the beach and just chilled the rest of the evening, it was great as i never get to do that.

The rest of that week i worked out of Tatum's room and hung out with her when I got off, we had some adveturous times with riding our bikes shopping and some fun trips to the beach while hanging out with the girls. The highlight was going to the LA temple on tuesday night which is a 40 minute drive but so so worth it, i was able to do a session while Tatum did baptism. At the end of the week on thursday we packed some of tatums stuff and all my goods from shopping and headed back to AZ. It was such a great end to the trip, sang and talked all the way home to stay awake. Thanks Tatum for such an amazing week in CALI!!

Hi Family!   So mom, you thought that last week was going to be my last email, but surprise you get ONE more! President Beesley decided to let all the missionaries email on Tuesday because of the holiday. It is interesting how different mission president's are and the things they do that are not the same at all.  We have had the pleasure of getting to know him and his wife this last week and I must say the one thing I have heard the most is "I cannot believe how much different she is from Sister Dance!" I just have to chuckle as of course they are going to be different and I am sure they will be amazing in their own way. He is a pretty achieved person from his previous life, he was a test fighter pilot so he has shown us a couple of video's of him flying F-16's and some other fighter jets. Being in the right place at the right time.....listen to the spirit!!!

Dear Friends and Family,   What a wonderful week! There could not be any better way to end a week then to witness two people get baptized.  The baptism were so wonderful and to feel the spirit of both of them was great. I just love seeing both of their faces as they came out of the water and to see the light and joy in their eyes! We also had the opportunity to start teaching two new people this week. One of them is a special circumstance given from out ward. His name is Justin Tabbilos and the ward found out that he did not have a baptismal record at all even though we all thought he had been baptized. Well come to find out he was baptized in the Philippians and they never recorded it with the church and they could not track down the witnesses for the baptism either. It was pretty sad as I am sure he does not want to go through the process again. Something you said stuck with me.....

Hi Friends and Family,   This past week has been such a good week! It feels like such a bitter sweet to think that I have only two weeks left. I was saying a prayer yesterday and told my heavenly father that I would stay here another year if he would just let me. The goodness of sharing the gospel and seeing the light in people's eyes and just working each and everyday is ever so rewarding even with the trials that come right along with it. I love this work and I could not be more than thankful to the opportunities I have had to be here and to know the people of Alaska.   This week we had an experience of teaching a new person who's name is Dale, this experience was pretty neat in the way that we met. The Sunday before last we were contacting people on the ward list that we did not know to bring them back to church and were going to contact a lady named Cindy.
