Guy Trip To LA + Jenn!!

Okay so i know the title sounds crazy, but that is how i felt! It all started the night of my b-day some guy friends and i were talking about taking a trip to LA, California. John is from there so he kept saying he would show us all the cool places no one goes to there, so we were convinced a bunch of us needed to go. Well as you know with the single crowd so many have no money or are just completely flaky!
Well that basically sums up how i ended up going to Cali with 4 guys and just me! It was such a great time. We booked a hotel and split the cost and did some great things. We left on a Thursday night and got in late. Friday i would say was my favorite day we woke up and went to b-fast at this amazing place called "More than Waffles" the food there was to die for at least i thought so. You can see in the pic the goodness of it!

After waffles we headed to the Getty's museum, i have never even heard of this place so i was excited to go. Basically it is a museum that has a several different places you can view, gardens, art, old fashion furniture and architectural stuff. It was cool we did not cover it all but did see alot of it, of course my favorite part is the gardens i think i am just obsessed with nature it just amazes me how pretty it is. After Getty's we decided we all wanted to take a trip to the "Alley" if any of you know LA this is a great shopping place where you can find deals on so much stuff! I have only been there once and my first time i spent so much money and got a ton of stuff. Because this was my second time back and only a month later i decided i was not going to spend as much. I was surprised that the boys wanted to go just as much as i did! When i got there i was on a mission to purchase 3 purses one for my mom and and the other 2 for my sisters. Shopping for yourself is easy shopping for others as you know not so easy! It was fun nonetheless i just kept taking pictures of what i thought they would like and called to see if it was a go. It ended up working out great i got 3 purses which they all loved (at least that is what they told me!) so it was a productive trip! After that we went and ate some fabulous fish tacos, i have to admit this was a trip of eating as there is so many great places to eat in this city. By the time we got done it was 8 or so, at that point i think we where all tired but we stayed out and went to a comedy club which was pretty entertaining for sure! Because there was so much we wanted to do that day we kept saying we will do it tomorrow so Saturday was BOOKED!

We woke up at 7:30 on Saturday and headed to John's parents house for BF, his mom loves Disney so it was entertaining to see all the decorates in Disney. They fed us some yummy food and sent us on our way. We went downtown and caught the subway, so after being in NY so many times i have to say this is the cleanest subway i have even been on! You can see in the pics there is hardly anyone that rides them and they are super clean. We hot off and walked around Hollywood street, actually i really cannot remember what it is called, but it is where they filmed American idle and all the stars are on the side walk. Anyhow it was a fun time as i do not recall ever going there. Then it was off to little Mexico, it was just like the little shops in Mexico my favorite part was this shirt we found.


After that it was an afternoon filled with food and LINES yes we waited in line at the famous Pinks hot dogs for over an hour. The question is was it worth it, i would have to say it was pretty dang good! You can see the different hot dogs below i got the most boring out of them all but it was tasty. My favorite place came right after it is this cookie sandwich place called Diddy Riese it was so good, they sale those things for $3.50 a piece that is what i am talking about we need one here in AZ. Wait maybe not i would be 10lb heavier!!!


Off to the beach we went after eating all that food! We met up with some single adult thing that was going on down there John knew about. I just hung out with the guys and played Frisbee, we where about to leave when this guy started to talk to me, it was pretty awkward so I bounced as soon as i had the chance. Just have to love those situations. After Jacob and Brett took off for home while Collin, John and I stayed one more night. We just went back and got ready to go out for the night. We did not do much as we were pretty tired from all the festivities of the weekend. We went to Universal Park and walked around and ate some yummy food. Overall it was such a great trip!!!!

Hey I really like my purse. It looks like you had a lot of fun. I think that in a couple of years that, Us sisters are going to have to take a girls trip to California. Do a lot of shopping.

Hi Family!   So mom, you thought that last week was going to be my last email, but surprise you get ONE more! President Beesley decided to let all the missionaries email on Tuesday because of the holiday. It is interesting how different mission president's are and the things they do that are not the same at all.  We have had the pleasure of getting to know him and his wife this last week and I must say the one thing I have heard the most is "I cannot believe how much different she is from Sister Dance!" I just have to chuckle as of course they are going to be different and I am sure they will be amazing in their own way. He is a pretty achieved person from his previous life, he was a test fighter pilot so he has shown us a couple of video's of him flying F-16's and some other fighter jets. Being in the right place at the right time.....listen to the spirit!!!

Dear Friends and Family,   What a wonderful week! There could not be any better way to end a week then to witness two people get baptized.  The baptism were so wonderful and to feel the spirit of both of them was great. I just love seeing both of their faces as they came out of the water and to see the light and joy in their eyes! We also had the opportunity to start teaching two new people this week. One of them is a special circumstance given from out ward. His name is Justin Tabbilos and the ward found out that he did not have a baptismal record at all even though we all thought he had been baptized. Well come to find out he was baptized in the Philippians and they never recorded it with the church and they could not track down the witnesses for the baptism either. It was pretty sad as I am sure he does not want to go through the process again. Something you said stuck with me.....

Hi Friends and Family,   This past week has been such a good week! It feels like such a bitter sweet to think that I have only two weeks left. I was saying a prayer yesterday and told my heavenly father that I would stay here another year if he would just let me. The goodness of sharing the gospel and seeing the light in people's eyes and just working each and everyday is ever so rewarding even with the trials that come right along with it. I love this work and I could not be more than thankful to the opportunities I have had to be here and to know the people of Alaska.   This week we had an experience of teaching a new person who's name is Dale, this experience was pretty neat in the way that we met. The Sunday before last we were contacting people on the ward list that we did not know to bring them back to church and were going to contact a lady named Cindy.
