Hi Family!
This past week was good, and work moved as usual. Petersburg is a very
festive and close knit place I am learning. We were able to attend
October Fest on Saturday, at first we wanted to go tracking but when
we figured out no one was home because of all being at October Fest we
ended up there as well. It is a really cool thing the town puts
together with booths were people sale homemade things. It was fun to
see what people put together, we also helped hang quilts people had
made and it inspired me just a little to maybe make a quilt:)
Wednesday we had a lesson with Christina and had sister Hayes with us.
It was a great lesson, we felt that she needed to hear about the word
of wisdom so that is what we focused on. She was willing to live the
word of wisdom and even got rid of all her black and green tea. It was
awesome and she is still praying about a day to be baptized and
everything.
Friday we taught Joe and had a great lesson, he has accepted to pray
about a date to be baptized. At the end he told sister Davis maybe you
can come back from Christmas and a baptism. It was great, I know he
knows this is the right step to take.
That Saturday Christina was supposed to come to the Beast Feast which
was a ward party we had and she ended up going to a family thing. Well
the very next day we found out that a friend got in her ear from
another church and told her not to meet with us anymore. It was super
sad to hear, we are going to see if she will still be willing to
learn. The Beast Feast turned out really well, it was an activity were
you bring all different kinds of meat. There was so many different
fishes and duck, deer, moose, you name it there and it was all so
good. We had the Newman family there who are all not members and they
really enjoyed themselves. Their daughter Macayla has been wanting to
get baptized for some time now and her mom is having her go through
Lutheran confirmation before she does. But after the activity her
parents mentioned about coming to church with her which is AWESOME and
a big step for that family!!
Mark is doing really well as well, we taught him twice that week with
the Lopez's and it is great to see how everything rings true with him.
I asked him what a prophet was to him and he gave a perfect analogy
that really showed the spirits is testifying the truth to Mark. He is
leaving to Hawaii in a few weeks which I am really sad about but know
he will get baptized there.
Well found out on Monday that Sister Davis and I will be serving
another Transfer together which is not a big surprise. She leaves a
week early to go home from her mission so we will see what happens
after that. I hope you guys are all doing well and know that I love
you!
