Loving the Sunshine

Hi Friends and Family,

This past week has been such a great week and I am so thankful to be here!!  The work in our area is going so great, and we have had the opportunity to do allot of teaching this week. I always think the first day of your mission is very meaningful and is forever imprinted in your mind. I wanted to be able to have sister Sadlier to have a great day and be able to see how great doing the work is. We had an appointment with the Snow family that night who is a L/A part member family. When we got there her non member husband met us outside to let us know she was going to be cancelling which is the end turned out to be a blessing as he stood outside and talked to us about his feeling and the church. He does all the commitments that we leave with his wife and he talked to us about some of the hang ups that he has with the LDS religion. It was great to be able to talk and testify about our beliefs and why we do some of the things we do. I know that Ryan will understand as his wife comes back and he will join the church. We tracked next which was so great as we were able to get 3 or so potentials. It was a great evening and I am thankful for the experience.

Friday we met with Erica and taught her about prayer and most of all talked about whether or not she is going to be baptized this upcoming Saturday. She is in this sticky situation with the guy she is currently dating as he wanted to be there but there is no way he is going to make it. Does not look like he will be in Alaska for a long time so we talked to her about the importance of moving forward and not putting this off as it is so important. She is praying about it and we are praying she will understand the importance and keep her date to get baptized this Saturday the 23rd.

We also had a lesson with Kiara on Sunday and were able to follow up with her about baptism. She is so excited to be baptized and is looking forward to the 30th. She talked about an experience that week with repenting and it was so amazing to see her apply the repentance to her life and see it work.  I love how excited she is to make this commitment with her heavenly father and how much it means to her.  We also had another great experience at church with the Lewis family bringing their neighbor. Her name is Kristin and she is great. We have a appointment with her this week and we are both really excited to start teaching her.

I hope you are all doing well and know how how much I love you!!

Love,
Sister Booth
