Hi Family,
This past week has been a good week, it has been sunny almost every day which is so nice! The work in our area this past week has been a bit slower than most as it was spring break. Allot of our investigators were out of town or had to reschedule. It gave us a good opportunity to focus on contacting and to find other people that we usually do not take the time to do.
On Tuesday we were contacting people in the ward we have never met and we met Candice Snow who has not been to church in years. We chatted with her for a good time at the door and found that she had lost her testimony as a teenager because of the pressure of marriage and had not gone back to church since. She since then had married a non member and they had talked about going back to church but have never acted upon it. While talking I felt strongly about asking her if she would be willing to learn about the gospel just as we teach anyone who has not learned about it before and to make the decision for herself if it is for her. She accepted to have us come and teach her the lessons and said she would also ask her husband if he wanted to join. It was a great experience to be able to see her respond to something inside of her she has been questioning for years.
We also had the opportunity to go and teach Sid again this week. He is progressing very slowly as he does not like to do the assignments we leave most of the time. We showed him mormon.org this week and he really liked it and is going to try and listen to the book of Mormon this week versus trying to read it. With Sid making change is uncomfortable especially at the place of life he is at. But as we continue to invite he is softening up to it as he knows it is the right thing.
I am excited for this upcoming week as Erica will be back in town and we can continue to prepare her for her baptism date on the 26th of March. We are also working with the Goodman family and have asked his daughter to take the lessons again which she is willing to do. I am thankful for the opportunities the lord gives and I know that if we just move forward with faith he can use us as his tools. Well I hope all is going well for everybody and that you are doing good.
