Another Baptism and helping out with the Ididorod...

Sister Booth and Sister Dalton had the opportunity to help with an Iditarod. They helped out on Saturday, but the race was on Sunday - which means that they weren't able to actually see it :( Oh well, maybe another time! Here's Sister Dalton getting ready to eat breakfast (I think):

Here's Sister Booth with her name badge to get in to help:

Here's Sister Dalton:

Here they are together:

Now with a bigger flash:

It looks like they are getting bundled up! I'm sure it was very cold. You can read more about the service in Sister Booth's letter below.

The next group of pictures are of another baptism! It was the baptism of Steven Cain. It's also mentioned in the letter below.

Here's Brother Cain with the person baptizing him (I'm not sure who that is):

I have to admit that I'm not sure which one is Steven Cain and which one is the baptizing member! Sister Booth didn't label the people, so I don't know for sure!
Anyhow, here they are with their wives:

Maybe this is Steven Cain, his wife, and the one baptizing him??

And one more for good measure:

Here's a letter from Sister Booth explaining the above events:

Hi Family!

I made it another week! It is so cold this week, that is for sure. I thought wind was bad in the heat, but it is far worse in the cold as it blows the snow everywhere and makes it much colder. But I am sure surviving and loving Alaska! We are having great success with the people here and I am loving them. We are so privileged to have a baptism this Saturday for Steven Cain. He is amazing! We were referred to him by the Bishop, as his wife is a member. He was pretty much ready when we started teaching. It was crazy! Half-way through our third time teaching him, when we where going to ask him if he would be baptized on a specific date, he beat us to it and told us he wanted to and on that day too. It has been so awesome to see the changes in his spirit as he truly has come unto the Lord and is ready for baptism.

We also are making great progress with Oscar. He is amazing as well. So eager to learn what we are teaching and to read on his own to learn more. He came to church on Sunday and really enjoyed it and is willing to come back. I know he will be baptized and I am so thankful for him. It has been so exciting with the people we are teaching to see their lives change as they start reading the BOM and come unto Christ.

We also had some fun stuff going on as a zone. Here in Alaska they do this thing called the Iditarod. I'm not sure if anyone has heard of that, but it is a dog sledding race. It is huge here and they race pretty far. We did some service on Saturday, but the race started Sunday so we did not get to see it. If you are in Anchorage, I think you can watch it. Oh well, maybe next year.

Well I hope all is going well with the family. I love hearing from all of you!

Love you all!

Sister Booth
