A Hat Party with RuthAnn...

Hi Family!
I hope every one is doing well. We had a good, but different week this week for sure. Ever since I have gotten here I have been so blessed to find people to teach. I remember my trainer, well Sister Dalton, telling me on my first or second day here that this does not usually happen. And she seemed to keep saying that to me as we would have return appointments for people we tracted into. I guess that was the first time it had happened to her and she has been out in the field for 7 months now. For me, I was thinking: Okay, are you sure? Because it seems to happen a lot to us.
We found two more investigators last week from tracting. They are great people. Trevor is one of them and he is looking to change his life around and really wants to hear more of what we are teaching. He has a problem with alcohol right now, but is willing to quit and so we are praying that he can overcome his addiction and change. Phil is the other person we tracted into and she was raised catholic and told us: "I do not want to change religions, but I do have questions." It is amazing as a lot of her questions we have the answers for. We just have to be patient with her as I know the spirit will testify to her the truth of what we are saying.
We are continuing to teach our other investigators. Sometimes it is hard as people here like to travel a lot, I am learning. I cannot complain as I think it is great and love to do it myself. Alex is one that is leaving for 3 weeks, but I know in due time he will be baptized. Last week at the end of the lesson we committed him to pray and ponder, not just to know about baptism but for a day to be baptized. I know he will be baptized when he is ready and I am so excited for that day. Ruthann is another that is progressing. She is slowly feeling the spirit in her life. She is the sweetest person and I am thankful to be teaching her.
Well it is warming up here. It is funny when you think that 50 degrees is warm. But the snow is melting and it is messy, that is for sure. I can imagine the summer already being really pretty here. Oh, have to tell you a really funny story that happened to us. Since we are a practical joke family I know we can all appreciate this.
So we had a dinner appointment with a family that we did not know at all. When we called they told us how to get there as they were not even in the ward list. When we pulled up the father was outside and we were guessing he just had pulled in himself. So we asked if it was the Henson's home. He say's, "Yes, how can I help you?" We are thinking: Do you now know who we are? So we of course tell him we are there for dinner. Then he says "Well we are a catholic family and do not really believe in the Mormon beliefs, but you are welcome to stay for dinner if you really want to." I am thinking this is a joke for sure. So we look at him thinking: Ok, are you sure? Yea, I mean go on up if you really feel the need to stay. We laughed to ourselves and went up. Of course his wife just died. Mom, it reminded me of Fred and how he plays jokes on you and never tells you he is lying for the longest time. Man, that guy did not even crack a smile. It was pretty funny for sure.
Well, I hope you all are doing great, I love you all. Remember to always kneel down at night in prayer as the lord knows you best and can help you through anything you are going through. And Ryan (I say Ryan as Sister Coyle tells me about your comments on FB:) I heard about the health thing being passed. I have no words, is really all I can say. Except say a lot of prayers for our country.
Love,
Sister Booth
